Freaked for our safety, but God comes through

We were in Huntington, WV tonight and we were heading from the concert venue to the hotel in our bus after the concert thinking everything is fine. Adam was driving us and after a few blocks he realized that some vehicle was following us. We go several blocks and obscure turns further and the vehicle, that we realize is a minivan, is still following us. At one of the red lights, they tried to pull up next to us but there was already a car next to us, so they couldn't get too far. We get to the next red light and by this time everyone in the bus is aware of what's going on and we're all getting pretty freaked out by not knowing if it is some drunk guys in the college town chasing a tour bus or some wouldbe evildoers looking to get us to stop and break in or whatever. The decision was made to call 911 - so I get out my phone and hit send on my phone and it begins to connect. While I was doing that, Cody had stuck his head out the side window to get a better view. The car had pulled up next to us again, and distracted by Cody sticking his head out the window, the driver actually rear-ends the car in front of him. I realize this by the sound and seeing the car directly to the side of us thrust forward - the 911 operator connects and asks me what my emergency is...to which I begin to explain that I just witnessed an accident.

We all pull away as the light turns green in amazement of what we just saw and experienced...needless to say once we got to the hotel we were all super concerned and kept the bus under lock and key till we got on the road.

Guest of the Day

We're in Boise, ID for a Halloween show put on by Calvary Chapel in Boise here. Everybody has been super cool, easy to work with, pretty relaxing day.

Actually, we've titled this day "Amateur Hour" because of many things. I forgot to check everybody in for their flights yesterday so we all had pretty crappy seats this morning. I made some wrong turns going to the airport which I go to the airport who knows how many times a month. Adam forgot his pedal board and guitar, Cody forgot his pedal board, Jordan didn't have any drum sticks so I had some for him, we didn't have our regular merch starting cash or cash box with us cause we forgot it, the credit card machine wasn't recharged, my PSP had no battery life, my suitcase got lost at the airport, etc. etc.

Well, a ray of sunshine when I went to the hotel to check us in this evening. We show up at the Oxford Suites in good ole Boise. Really nice hotel. I walk in and what's encased in a frame sitting on the hotel desk - Oxford Suites welcomes our Guest of the Day - Matt Satorius! Hip hip...hooray! It didn't really mean much besides an upgraded room with a fireplace and huge bathroom and a signed card from the manager with her email address *thanks Tina Parrish, but sure made me feel special!

Stellar Basketball

The band is on the Lifelight tour right now with Remedy Drive and the Switch. Everybody has been super cool to tour with and the guys have been having a good time. Today we are in Mitchel, SD at the Mitchel Christian School. We played in their gym and when there's a gym, that means there will be a basketball game soon to follow. Nothing short of that, as soon as we had lunch at the school, there was an official challenge placed by the high school boys basketball team for after the gig. The guys were skeptical, but optimistic that they could handle their own. Adam and Brian represented Stellar Kart, teamed up with some of the guys from Remedy Drive and Lifelight folk.

The game started off pretty well, but went pretty downhill from there. I think the final score was somewhere in the range of 61 to 50 or something, high school boys with the win. Brian and I traded off on the commentary for the game. Overall it was a pretty fun game and a fun way to end the day.
